St. Petersburg, Fla. (May 30, 2013) – Today was the last day of the ICSA/Gill Coed Dinghy National Championship, the last of three high caliber Spring College Sailing National Championships. The events were co-hosted by the University of South Florida, St. Petersburg, Eckerd College and the St. Petersburg Yacht Club on Tampa Bay. Windy and wavy conditions made for fast paced racing today. College of Charleston led the charge all three days of the event and won the national title.
St. Petersburg, Fla. (May 30, 2013) – Thursday night was the final ICSA awards banquet at St. Petersburg Yacht Club in St. Petersburg, Fla. after the last day of racing for the ICSA/Gill Coed Dinghy National Championship. The Coed and Crew ICSA All-Americans, Everett B. Morris Trophy for the College Sailor of the Year, Robert H. Hobbs Sportsmanship Award and the Leonard M. Fowle Trophy for the Best Overall Team were presented. The names of the winners will be added to the ICSA Hall of Fame display located in the Robert Crown Center at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md.
St. Petersburg, Fla. (May 28, 2013) – Today was the first day of the ICSA/Gill Coed National Championship, co-hosted by the University of South Florida, St. Petersburg, Eckerd College and the St. Petersburg Yacht Club. The top eighteen collegiate sailing teams in the nation reported to the regatta venue on Tampa Bay in St. Petersburg, Fla. to compete for the Henry A. Morss Memorial Trophy, awarded to the winning team. The trophy was donated by a group of nationally known yachtsmen as a memorial to Henry A. Morss, a Boston yachtsman and 1907 Bermuda Race winner, as well as a Massachusetts Institute of Technology alumnus and benefactor.
St. Petersburg, Fla. (May 27, 2013) – Today was the third and final day of the ICSA/APS Team Race National Championship on Tampa Bay in St. Petersburg, Fla. This event is the second of three collegiate sailing national championships co-hosted by the University of South Florida, St. Petersburg, Eckerd College and St. Petersburg Yacht Club this spring. After three days of racing excitement Yale University came away with the Championship title winning the Walter C. Wood Trophy.
St. Petersburg, Fla. (May 25, 2013) – Today was the first day of racing for the ICSA/APS Team Race National Championships on Tampa Bay in St. Petersburg, Fla. The event is co-hosted by the University of South Florida, St. Petersburg, Eckerd College and St. Petersburg Yacht Club. Fourteen collegiate teams from across the nation qualified to compete for the Walter C. Wood Trophy, awarded to the winning team at the ICSA/APS Team Race National Championship. The trophy honors Walter C. “Jack” Wood, MIT’s first sailing director and whom in conjunction with Leonard M. Fowle, was a founder of college racing.
St. Petersburg, Fla. (May 24, 2013) – Today was the last day of racing for the Sperry Top-Sider/ICSA Women’s National Championship on Tampa Bay in St. Petersburg, Fla. The event is co-hosted by the University of South Florida, St. Petersburg, Eckerd College and the St. Petersburg Yacht Club. Eighteen women’s collegiate teams raced for the Gerald C. Miller Trophy and Dartmouth College came out the victor.
St. Petersburg, Fla. (May 24, 2013) – The Quantum Women’s College Sailor of the Year award and ICSA Women’s All-American Team were announced at the final banquet for the Sperry Top-Sider/ICSA Women’s National Championships in St. Petersburg, Fla. at the University of South Florida, St. Petersburg.

(May 23, 2013) – The Sperry Top-Sider/ICSA Women’s National Championship continued today in St. Petersburg, Fla. on Tampa Bay co-sponsored by the University of South Florida, St. Petersburg, Eckerd College and St. Petersburg Yacht Club. Eighteen collegiate teams from across the nation are vying for the national title, the Gerald C. Miller Trophy, awarded to the winning team.
St. Petersburg, Fla. (May 22, 2013) – Racing continued on Tampa Bay today wrapping up the Sperry Top-Sider/ICSA Women’s Semi-Final Championships and beginning the Sperry Top-Sider/ICSA Women’s National Championships. The teams, which represent the seven collegiate sailing districts in the nation, are competing for the Gerald C. Miller Trophy, named for the coach in the late 1960s at Boston University, who was one of the originators of the first women’s nationals.
St. Petersburg, Fla. (May 21, 2013) – The 2013 Intercollegiate Sailing Association’s series of National Championships began today on Tampa Bay in St. Petersburg, Fla. with the Sperry-Topsider/ICSA Women’s Semi-Final Championship. The Semi-Finals are the precursor to the Women’s National Championship slated to begin Wednesday, May 22 at 1 p.m. eastern time provided that all qualifying races are completed. Otherwise Finals racing will begin Thursday, May 23. The events are co-hosted by the University of South Florida, St. Petersburg, Eckerd College and the St. Petersburg Yacht Club.
