NEISA Sailors of the Week, Weekend 4, Spring 2018


***Klinger and Colwell are the NEISA Women’s Sailors of the Week***

 

Medford, MA—3/28/18-Casey Klinger ’18 and Caroline Colwell ’18 from Yale led their team to victory at a very competitive Duplin Women’s Team Race at Tufts University.  Yale entered the final round of six teams in 5th place, and went 4-1 to win the event on a tie breaker over the home team of Tufts, and visiting team Dartmouth.  This was a highly competitive event, with all participants preparing for the new Women’s National Invitational Team Race Invitational which will take place on April 29-30 at MIT.

 

***Baird and Nicolosi are the NEISA Sailors of the Week***

Bristol, RI—3/28/18-Nic Baird ’19 and Graceann Nicolosi ’20 led the Yale Bulldogs to victory at the Friis Trophy Team Race, held at Roger Williams University.  Yale went undefeated in the final round of six to finish the event 12-2, beating Roger Williams at home.  Yale is the first team to beat RWU at a varsity team race this season.  There was a very strong field at this event, with all teams gearing up for their district champs, which are now less than two weeks away.

 

Around the Conference

 

BC won the BC Team Race.  Roger Williams won the BU Team Race.  URI won the Central 1.  Connecticut College won the Staake with Coast Guard finishing second.  Both teams qualified for the New England Team Race Champs.
