Sailors of the Week, Weekend 7, Fall 2014


***Barrows, Megarry, and Johnson are the NEISA COED Sailors of the Week***

Annapolis, MD—10/20/14-Ian Barrows ’17, Meredith Megarry ’17, and Emily Johnson ’16 are named the NEISA Sailors of the Week for their dominating performance in B division at the Navy Fall Interconference Regatta.  The B-division team from Yale won six of the fifteen races sailed and only had one race outside the top 9.  Barrows, Megarry, and Johnson won B division by sixty-five points and helped lead Yale to the overall win at the Navy Fall Regatta.

***Isler and Belling are the NEISA Women’s Sailors of the Week***

Branford, Ct—10/20/14-Marly Isler ’16 and Charlotte Belling ’16 are named the NEISA Women’s Sailors of the Week for their winning performance in B division at the Yale Women’s Regatta.  Isler and Belling won two of the fourteen races and had only three races outside the top ten in a wide range of conditions.  The duo from Yale helped the Bulldogs win the event by thirty-seven points.

Around the Conference—

Yale won the Yale Women’s Regatta with UVM in second, and Boston College in third. Yale also won the Navy Fall Regatta.  Boston College won the Captain Hurst Bowl with Roger Williams in second.  Coast Guard won the Providence Invitational.  Middlebury won the McGill Cup.  Boston University won the Great Herring Pond Open and Harvard won the Norm Reid Team Race.  Boston College won the Lane Trophy and MIT won the Firefly Invitational.
