The Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association (ICSA) is excited to announce a new five-year sponsorship agreement with Zim Sailing and West Coast Sailing. These are two of North America’s leading suppliers of boats, parts and equipment, both owned and led by former college sailors.

As ‘Official Suppliers’ of College Sailing, Zim Sailing and West Coast Sailing will contribute equipment for use at the various ICSA national championships, including 420/FJ sails at Spring Championships, and complete ILCA boats at Singlehand championships. In addition to providing equipment, both companies have created a unique cash contribution plan where 5% of purchases made by college sailing programs will be donated back to ICSA. This will create a direct circle of support for the long term benefit of student athletes and the continued growth of College Sailing.

PROVIDENCE 4/24/2022 – Yale University walked away victorious in the inaugural Women's Team Race National Championship, hosted by Brown University April 23 and 24th. The Bulldogs of Yale finished the event with a 13-3 overall record, behind an impressive group of sailors, including three fantastic first-year skippers, Mia Nicolosi, Emma Cowles, and Carmen Cowles. Those three Yale youngsters sailed with a depth of crews, Meredith Ryan ’23 and Ximena Escobar ’25 (sailing with Mia Nicolosi), Anisha Arcot ’23 and Helena Ware ’23 (sailing with Emma Cowles), and Becca Rose ’22 and Megan Grimes ’24 (sailing with Carmen Cowles).

We have the pleasure of announcing the PCCSC All-Conference Skippers, All-Conference Crews, Rookie of the Year, and Skipper of the Year. Thank you to the committee that was composed of Kai Ponting (PCCSC President), Sam Kimmel (PCCSC Vice-President), and David Alexander (PCCSC TIDE Rep) for vetting the 2021-2022 results. The criteria for how competitors make the list of consideration and how they are then ranked is available in the PCCSC Standing Rules. Congratulations to all of these sailors on an outstanding season!

  • Leo Boucher, St. Mary’s College of Maryland
  • Boyd Bragg, Dartmouth College
  • Spencer Cartwright, Roger Williams University
  • Patricia Gerli, Stanford University

Since 1959, the ICSA and the British Universities Sailing Association (BUSA) have taken part in a bi-annual competition where each organization sends a team of outstanding student-athletes across the Atlantic to compete against one another.  This summer, the ICSA will be sending a team to England to once again represent all of ICSA in “The Tour."

The ICSA-BUSA Tour has historically featured talented athletes on both sides who have gone onto represent their country in the Olympics, the America’s Cup, and much more.  Every 4 years the ICSA sends a team of our very best to compete against many of the best student-athletes from across the BUSA universities.

The 2021 edition of the Tour was postponed due to COVID-19, and is thankfully now back on for this summer.  The dates of the tour including travel will run between July 15-August 9, with a firmer set of dates and itinerary to follow in the coming weeks.

Congratulations to Leo Boucher from St. Mary's for winning the Glenn S Foster Trophy for the College Sailing Singlehanded Championship! Congratulations to Charlotte Rose from Jacksonville for winning the Janet Lutz Trophy for the College Sailing Women's Singlehanded National Championship!
