NEISA Regatta Report Weekend 6/7


New London, CT – 4/25/21 – This past weekend the Coast Guard Academy hosted the NEISA Team Race Championship for the Fowle Trophy, with the top four teams qualifying for nationals in Annapolis later this spring. After a challenging day with strong current, the Roger Williams Hawks won the regatta with a record of 9-3. Winning it for the Hawks were Spencer Cartwright ’21, Aidan Hoogland ’24, Cameron Wood ’22, Rachel Holick ’21, Molly Matthews ’23, and Emily Gildea ‘21. Congratulations to Boston College for coming in second.  Brown University, Tufts University, and the US Coast Guard Academy all finished with a 7-5 record, with Brown and Tufts winning the tie breaker and rounding out the top four representing NEISA in Annapolis.

 

New London, CT – 4/18/21 – Last weekend Connecticut College hosted the New England Women’s Championship on Saturday and the United States Coast Guard Bowl for the Coed New England Championship on Sunday, with the top 5 teams qualifying for nationals in Annapolis. A huge congratulations to Brown University for winning both regattas. Olivia Belda ’22, Annabelle Hutchinson ’21 and Emma Montgomery ’22 led their team to victory on Saturday finishing with 22 points overall, 21 points ahead of second place. On Sunday, while Brown won the regatta, Walter Gnann ’21 and Brian Nelson ’21 of the US Coast Guard Academy finished in first with 33 points over eight races, helping their team to second place overall.

 

Congratulations to the US Coast Guard Academy, Roger Williams University, University of Rhode Island and Boston College for qualifying for Coed nationals along with Brown.
