Annapolis, MD – 10/6/24 – The Boston College Eagle's Peter Busch '26 and Sara Schumann '25 have been named the NEISA Open Sailors of the Week after winning B Division at the Open Atlantic Coast Championship Round 1A at the U.S. Naval Academy. They showed remarkable consistency throughout the weekend with all single digit finishes after 18 races, including 15 top five finishes in the 18-boat fleet in a wide range of conditions. They won their division by 29 points over second-place and led the Eagles to second place overall, easily qualifying for the Open Atlantic Coast Championship on their home waters at the Savin Hill Yacht Club on October 19-20.
New London, CT – 10/6/24 – The Yale Bulldogs Carmen Cowles ’25, Carmen Berg '26, and Ximena Escobar '25 have been named the NEISA Women’s Sailors of the Week. Their dominant performance in B-Division at the Stu Nelson Women's Trophy at Connecticut College helped Yale to a 78-point overall victory over second place Stanford. They won their division by 26 points and won six of the 10 races, including two second places as well.

The Brown Bears won the Open Atlantic Coast Championship Round 1A at the U.S. Naval Academy, followed by Boston College in second, and Roger Williams in third. Bowdoin, Yale, and Tufts finished 7th, 8th, and 9th respectively to also qualify for the Open Atlantic Coast Championship at Boston College and the Savin Hill Yacht Club on October 19-20.
Harvard (2nd), Coast Guard (3rd), Dartmouth (4th), and URI (7th) all qualified for the Open Atlantic Coast Championship out of Open Atlantic Coast Championship Round 1B at St. Mary's College of Maryland.
Yale dominated the three division Stu Nelson Women's Trophy, hosted by Connecticut College. The Bulldogs won by an impressive 78 points over second place, winning both B and C division. Northeastern finished third overall.
Boston University won the Great Herring Pond Open at Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Boston College won the Hewitt Trophy hosted by Bowdoin. Yale won the Sister Esther Trophy at Salve Regina, Brown won the Richard Ross at Courageous Sailing Center, The University of Vermont won the Stuart Walker Trophy at Middlebury, Bates won the Protest Trophy hosted on their home waters.
